- 📖 లేఖన ఆధారం: యెహోషువ 10వ అధ్యాయం 12వ వచనం ప్రకారం, యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ఎదుట అమోరీయులను అప్పగించిన దినమున యెహోషువ యెహోవాకు ప్రార్థన చేశాడు. “సూర్యుడా, నీవు గిబియోనులో నిలువుము; చంద్రుడా, నీవు అయ్యాలోను లోయలో నిలువుము” అని ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు. యెహోవా ఒక నరుని మనవి వినిన ఆ దినము వంటి దినము దానికి ముందే గాని, దానికి తర్వాత గాని ఉండలేదు. ఆనాడు యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పక్షముగా యుద్ధము చేశాడు.

- Scriptural Basis: According to Joshua 10:12, on the day the Lord handed over the Amorites to Israel, Joshua prayed to the Lord. He commanded, “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. On that day, the Lord fought for Israel.
- Scientific Perspective – Stand Still: Scientifically speaking, all these celestial bodies (planetary systems) are in rotation. If you stop one, the others would collide and result in an accident. Therefore, for this miracle to occur, the entire rotation of the planets and satellites in the concerned solar system must be brought to a ‘stand still’. Only God can do this.
- Divine Intervention: Joshua prayed to God, and God, having heard that voice, stopped them. This means that even when Joshua directly commanded them, God was intervening in the middle. Even when Hezekiah prayed, the shadow of the sun moved backward. Though it was impossible, it truly happened.
