- The Essence of Marriage: If there were 100% compatibility, she wouldn’t truly be a wife, and he wouldn’t truly be a husband. Coexisting while enduring what one dislikes is the true essence of marriage. The most wretched and terrifying example of this in the Bible is Hosea’s wife, Gomer. It was an unimaginably horrific situation.
- God’s Stern Command: According to Hosea 1:2, God gave Hosea a command: “Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry.” Her mother, Diblaim, was a harlot, and her daughter Gomer was a harlot as well. She already had children born of adultery, and God told him to take them in too. Even after marriage, she didn’t change; she was so accustomed to her wandering ways that she would repeatedly run away with others.

- Real-life Testimonies & Conclusion: I have seen two such believers in Nalgonda and Siddipet who were like Hosea. Even when their wives sinned, they stood firm, saying, “What do you say about Hosea? I have decided to forgive.” They were great souls. Therefore, realize that our spouse is the chisel God uses to shape us. The mystery behind this test is to acquire a character like God’s.
