🦁 Question: After being saved, anointed by the Holy Spirit, receiving spiritual gifts, speaking in tongues, prophesying, healing the sick, and casting out demons—why does the ego still not die? What is the method to kill this beast called ego?
- Ego – A Stubborn Nature: Ego does not die easily. Even if a person is saved and performs miracles through spiritual gifts, a certain stubbornness (“What I think is right, I won’t listen to anyone”) often remains in the mind. This is a remnant of the ‘Old Nature’ inherited from Adam. It doesn’t vanish in a day; it takes a lifetime of spiritual struggle.
- Crucifixion is the Only Way: As explained in the first chapter of my book ‘Gandragoddali’ (The Battle-Axe)—”Crucify and kill the beast called ego.” As long as this beast of ego lives within you, the divine attributes will not fully reflect in your ministry. Unless the ego is slain, there is no true progress in spiritual life.
- The Release of the Spirit: Renowned servant of God, Watchman Nee, beautifully illustrated this in his book. The spirit within us is often bound by these fleshly, egoistic traits like iron chains. Only when these chains are broken through God’s power are the spiritual fruits and divine qualities truly released.
