🌌 Question: Is the Kingdom of God only within our hearts, or does it truly have a location? Where did Elijah and Jesus go? Where is it located?
- Two Dimensions of the Kingdom: According to the Holy Bible, the ‘Kingdom of God’ has two primary meanings:
- Spiritual Reign: This is the governance of God expanding within the hearts of those on earth who are saved and being redeemed. It is the internal ruling of God in our lives.
- Literal Kingdom: This is an actual, literal city or empire located somewhere in the vastness of space, where God alone reigns supreme.
- Clarity of Location: Heaven is not just a concept; it is a physical reality. This is why the prophet Elijah ascended to heaven in a chariot of fire. Similarly, the Lord Jesus, after His resurrection, ascended in a ‘Shekinah’ (Glory) cloud while everyone watched.
- Beyond the Planetary Systems: The reason they ascended toward the sky in plain sight was to demonstrate that the Kingdom of God is outside this planet, beyond all planetary systems, in a far-off location. Christ clarified His location to show us the destination we must reach.
- Reign vs. Kingdom Entry: Receiving salvation and coming under God’s ‘ruling’ (authority) on earth is the first step. However, entering that infinite ‘Universal Kingdom of Glory’ (Heaven) is the ultimate state. Galatians 5 clearly warns that those who practice the works of the flesh cannot enter that holy empire.
- Conclusion: Before we depart for that eternal kingdom, we must purify ourselves from the works of the flesh through the washing of the Word while still on this earth. Only those who submit to God’s reign here will inherit that celestial empire.
