🛡️ Question: Organizations like ‘Shivshakti’ or certain individuals are severely abusing our Christianity. However, you say, “Do not abuse other deities; declare the love of Jesus.” What should our attitude be toward those who abuse us? Why aren’t their gurus teaching them better?
- The Character Taught by Jesus: Long before me, the servant of God, Devadasu Ayyagaru, stated that we should not abuse other religions. If others abuse us, it reflects their character; however, loving them reflects the character taught to us by Jesus. Jesus instructed us to love even our enemies. Our attitude should always be rooted in love, not hatred.
- Broad-minded Individuals: Not all Hindu religious leaders are abusers; there are many good, broad-minded people among them. For instance, Swami Agnivesh spoke out against superstitions. Similarly, Rangarajan, the priest of Chilkur Balaji temple, carried a Dalit on his shoulders. People with such broad hearts are our true brothers.
- Differing Mindsets: There are two types of mindsets in society. While some are filled with religious fanaticism, others, like Chinna Jeeyar Swami, hold narrow views, such as purifying an idol with milk if someone like the President touches it, fearing it has become “polluted.” Good and loving people exist in every religion.
