🌾 Question: Why doesn’t God stop Satan from sowing tares in His field? Does a believer realize when tares are being sown, or only after they grow? Why is there this coexistence of good and evil?
- The Coexistence of Good and Evil: In the current plan of redemption, there is no clear separation between good and evil; they coexist. Within a single person, there is a redeemed spirit and a body bound by the law of sin. To separate them now would endanger the person’s existence; therefore, for ‘technical reasons,’ God allows them to grow together until the harvest.
- Internal Conflict: There is a constant struggle within us between the spirit and the flesh. The flesh lusts against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh. In this wrestling match, whoever is fed more (through the Word and prayer) becomes stronger and emerges victorious. To let the spirit win, we must weaken the carnal nature.
- The Test of Faith: This conflict is necessary to prove who stands for the Truth and who believes in lies. Our commitment is revealed only when there is opposition. Just as gold is tested in fire to prove its purity, our alignment with God’s heart is proven through these worldly conflicts.
- Divine Decision: God allowed them to remain because pulling out the tares prematurely might damage the wheat. At the end of the age (the harvest time), God Himself will perform the separation through His angels. Until then, we must patiently look to God and guard our spirituality.
