- The First Vine (Israel): God brought the people of Israel out of Egypt like a vine and planted them in Canaan. He nurtured them with great love, expecting them to yield good fruit. However, they transgressed God’s commandments, mingled with the world, and produced “wild grapes” (sin and idolatry). Israel failed to produce the spiritual fruits that God desired.
- The True Vine (Jesus Christ): Where the people of Israel failed, the Lord Jesus came and declared, “I am the True Vine.” This means that Jesus demonstrated the perfect obedience, holiness, and divine fruits that God the Father expected. He is the true source who never fails and always bears fruit.
- Branches and Fruits: According to John 15, we believers must be the “branches” in Him.
