- Witness vs. History: This question stems from a misunderstanding. While other ancient scriptures contain a ‘witness’ or prophecy of a divine sacrifice, only the Bible provides the historical ‘address.’ It tells us exactly in which town, country, and time period this sacrifice took place.
- The Vedas’ Limitation: The Vedas state that the ‘Virat Purusha’ (The Supreme Being) will descend, die, and rise again to provide atonement for sins. However, they do not specify where or when this occurred in history. You cannot ‘find’ the Savior in history using only those texts.
- The Bible’s Specificity: The Bible brings that spiritual information into the real world. It provides the historical context of Jesus Christ—His birth, His crucifixion, and His resurrection—at a specific geographic location and time. It brings the Savior to our doorstep.
- Conclusion: You can obtain salvation by reading only the Bible, even without the Vedas, because the Bible points you directly to the Savior. However, reading only the Vedas might give you the information that a Savior is needed, but it won’t lead you to the person of the Savior. That is why the Bible remains my primary and absolute authority.
